Rental Application and Instructions


We are a property management company. Our website is designed to showcase the properties that we manage. The homes listed here may not be currently available to rent. All rental homes currently available are listed on housing search sites such as Zillow, Trulia, and HotPads. Please email [email protected] for a list of currently available rentals. 

If you are looking to rent one of our available properties...

Step 1) Click on the file below to view our rental application. You will need to fill this out and return it to our office in order to schedule a showing. You will not be charged the application fee until you've chosen the house you want to pursue for rent.

Step 2) Return your rental application to our Leasing Agent via email to [email protected]. Once we receive your application, Alicia will schedule a showing of the property with you. You may also email Alicia directly with any questions.

Step 3) Once you've found the house you want to rent, you will be charged the $50 application fee per applicant for all applicants over the age of 18.

Step 4) You will receive an email from the company we use for background checks. You will need to create an account and answer some basic questions. The background check will look at credit, criminal history, and eviction history. We are looking for a minimum credit score around 600. If your score is lower than that, we may have options available for you to still rent with us. If you have a previous eviction, you must show you have paid off any outstanding amounts due to the previous landlord. To qualify for a house, you must have an income at least 3x the rent rate for the property you are interested in.

Step 5) Once we receive your background check back, we will complete a full screening of you application and inform you of the results. The background check typically takes less than 1 hour.

Step 6) If your application is accepted for a house, you will need to sign the lease agreement and pay the deposit ASAP if you want to secure the house. Disclosure: Based on an initial pre-screening of a rental application when first received by Michiana Homes and Rentals, LLC, we may ask that you pay the application fee and submit to a background check before scheduling a showing.
